# Fix Error: [131037] WhatsApp provided number needs display name approval before message can be sent

Let’s look at why this occurs and what you can do about it.

### Why do you get this error?

This error occurs when you're using a **WhatsApp-provided free number** (also known as a [+1-555 number](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/whatsapp/embedded-signup#555-business-phone-numbers)) and its **display name hasn’t been approved yet**. 

WhatsApp requires all +1-555 numbers to have an approved display name before they can be used to send messages. Until that happens, any attempt to send messages from this number will return this error.

### How to fix this error

To resolve this error, you have two options:

**Option 1: Get your WhatsApp Display Name approved**

If you want to continue using the WhatsApp-provided (+1-555) number, you’ll need to submit a display name for approval.

Once your display name is approved by WhatsApp, you’ll be able to send messages from this number.

**Option 2: Use your own phone number**

If you do not want to wait for display name approval, set up your own phone number with WANotifier.

Note that **display name approval is not required** to start sending messages from your **own phone number**.
