# Why WhatsApp Number is Showing Pending?

If your **Phone Number Status** on the Dashboard page is showing as **Pending**, it means that your phone number is not yet active, as you haven’t started sending messages from your account yet.

To activate your number and change the status to **Connected**, you’ll need to send at least one message. You can do this by:

* Sending a test message to a contact from the [__Contacts page__](https://app.wanotifier.com/contacts/).
* Or, [__creating a new notification__](https://help.wanotifier.com/en/article/create-marketing-broadcast-notifications-1hes042/) and sending it to a few test contacts.

Once you’ve sent a message, your WhatsApp number status will automatically switch to Connected in your account.
