Automatically Subscribe and Unsubscribe Contacts
Sending messages to users who actually want to hear from you isn’t just critical for your marketing efforts but also for complying with WhatsApp’s business messaging policy.
With WANotifier, you can let your contacts manage their subscription to your messages and control what updates they receive using our Basic Automations feature.
In this article, we’ll show you how to set these up.
Unsubscribe Automation
You can use this automation to unsubscribe a contact from future messages when they send a trigger word like “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE,” and send a message confirming their preference.
To set up Unsubscribe automation:
- Click on Automations in the left sidebar menu and select the Basic option from the dropdown.
- On the Basic Automations screen, toggle the status button in the Unsubscribe section to turn this automation on, and then click the Edit button. This will open a pop-up.
- In the pop-up, enter one or more trigger words, like “STOP” or “PAUSE,” separated by commas.
- Next, select a message type. You can either choose the Message text option to send a custom unsubscribe confirmation message or select a pre-approved message template.
- Once you’ve finalized the message text or template, click Save.
When a contact sends one of your trigger words, they’ll automatically be unsubscribed and receive the confirmation message you set.
Re-subscribe Automation
You can use this automation to resubscribe a contact when they send a trigger word like “START” or “SUBSCRIBE,” and send a message confirming their preference.
To set up a Re-subscribe automation:
- Click on Automations in the left sidebar menu and select the Basic option from the dropdown.
- On the Basic Automations screen, toggle the status button in the Re-subscribe section to turn this automation on, and then click the Edit button. This will open a pop-up.
- In the pop-up, enter one or more trigger words separated by commas.
- Next, select a message type. You can either choose the Message text option to send a custom resubscribe confirmation message or select a pre-approved message template.
- Once you’ve finalized the message text or template, click Save.
When a contact sends one of your trigger words, they’ll automatically be resubscribed and receive the confirmation message you set.
Next, we’ll show you how to set up keyword-based auto-replies to respond instantly to FAQs.
