Create Quick Replies for Inbox

Quick replies let you create and save responses to common queries ahead of time and insert them into a chat using a shortcut.

In this article, we’ll show you how to create these replies for your Inbox to help you respond faster during conversations.

Let’s get started.

How to Create a Quick Reply

  1. Go to the Content Library in the left sidebar menu and select the Quick Replies option from the menu.

  1. On the Quick Replies page, click on the Add New Quick Reply button in the top-right corner. This will open a pop-up.

  1. In the pop-up, enter a unique shortcut for your quick reply in the TITLE field. This is the keyword you'll use to fetch the quick reply from the message field in your Inbox using the / command. For example, entering /welcome in the chat input will fetch the quick reply saved under the shortcut "welcome", which could be a greeting message like “Hi there! How can I help you today?” Note that this shortcut must be no longer than 25 characters.

  1. In the MESSAGE CONTENT field, enter the content of your quick reply. This can be up to 1,024 characters.
  2. Once you’ve entered the quick reply content, click Save.

Note that if you want to update an existing quick reply, you can use the search field at the top of the Quick Replies page to look it up.

Once your quick reply appears in the results, click the edit icon at the end of its row to update its content.

How to Use a Quick Reply in Inbox

To use a pre-configured quick reply in your conversation:

  1. Open an active conversation in your Inbox.
  2. In the chat input field, type / followed by the shortcut of your quick reply. For example, /welcome or /hi.
  3. A pop-up will appear showing the matching quick reply (or a list of similar quick replies).

  1. Click on the quick reply or press Enter to insert its content into the input field.
  2. Finally, click on the paper plane icon to send the quick reply.

Next, we’ll show you how to manage message delivery blue tick settings.
