Fix Error: [132015] Template is Paused
Are you seeing this error when trying to send a message template?
“[132015] Template is Paused.”
Let’s look at why this happens and what you can do to resolve it.
Why do you get this error?
This error occurs when the message template you’re trying to send has been paused by WhatsApp due to a low quality rating.
Note that all approved message templates start with a Quality rating of Pending, and if they receive negative feedback or show low engagement, WhatsApp lowers their quality rating.
Here’s how WhatsApp classifies template quality ratings:
- Pending
- High quality
- Medium quality
- Low quality
When a template reaches the lowest quality rating, WhatsApp automatically pauses it to protect the quality rating of phone numbers using that template.
How long will the template be paused?
The duration of the pause depends on how many times the template has reached Low quality status:
- First time: Paused for 3 hours
- Second time: Paused for 6 hours
- Third time: The template is permanently disabled
When a template is paused, you cannot send it to customers, and any attempt to do so will result in this error.
How to fix this error
To resolve this error, you can:
- Pause campaigns using the affected template
Stop any automated messaging campaigns using the paused template. Replace it with another pre-approved template to prevent repeated errors.
- Edit your template
If you think the template’s content led to negative feedback or low engagement, edit it to make it more relevant and helpful.
However, remember that once you edit the template, you won’t be able to use it to send notifications until WhatsApp approves it.
Also, keep in mind that a pause on a single template will not immediately affect your phone number’s quality rating or messaging limit.
However, if you continue sending Low quality message templates, your phone number’s overall quality rating may get impacted in the future.
