Fix Error: [132016] Template is Disabled

[132016] Template is Disabled.


Let’s look at why this happens and how you can fix it.


Why do you get this error?


This error occurs when the message template you’re trying to send has been disabled by WhatsApp due to repeated low-quality ratings.


When a message template receives negative feedback or shows low engagement, WhatsApp gradually lowers its quality rating. If the rating eventually drops to Low quality, WhatsApp automatically pauses the template to protect the quality rating of the phone numbers using it.


Note that every time a template is paused, the duration of the pause increases:


  • First time: Paused for 3 hours
  • Second time: Paused for 6 hours
  • Third time: Template is disabled


Once a template is disabled, you cannot send it to customers, and any attempt to do so will result in this error.


How to fix this error


To resolve this error and continue messaging your customers, you have two options:


First, you can create a new message template with improved content and submit it for WhatsApp’s approval.


Alternatively, you can edit the disabled template and resubmit it for approval. Remember that after editing, you won’t be able to use the template to send notifications until WhatsApp approves it.
