Fix: Phone Number Status Showing FLAGGED

Has your phone number status changed to “FLAGGED”?

Let’s look at why this happens and what you can do about it.

Why does your phone number get flagged?

Your phone number status changes to “FLAGGED” when its quality rating drops to Low, causing it to be flagged by WhatsApp.

This can occur if recipients frequently block or report your messages as spam, or if your messaging activity results in poor engagement.

How to restore your phone number status

If your phone number is flagged, you can request a review from WhatsApp to have the status evaluated and and possibly restored sooner. Reviews typically take 24 hours.

If you do not request a review, but your message quality improves to High or Medium rating and remains at that level for 7 consecutive days, the status will automatically return to CONNECTED.

Note that if your message quality rating does not improve within 7 days, the status will still return to CONNECTED, but the messaging limit may be downgraded to the next tier.

For example, if your messaging limit is 100,000 messages per 24 hours, it will be downgraded to 10,000 messages.
