Notification Analytics

The Notification Analytics page lets you track the performance of your Marketing and Transactional notifications. You can use it to monitor the total number of messages sent, delivered, and read, as well as how many messages failed to deliver.

You can also track the total number of replies received, read time (the time it took for contacts to read your message), and the approximate cost of sending the Notification.

To open this page, click on Analytics & Reports in the left sidebar menu and select Notifications from the dropdown.

This is what you will see when you open the page (your view will be based on the available data in your account):

Let’s take a closer look at this page:

Select a Notification

At the top of the page, you’ll see the SELECT A NOTIFICATION dropdown. You can use this to select a notification you want to analyze.

Note that you can use the Clear reports and logs button at the top to clear the delivery reports and activity logs (covered at the end of this article) for the selected Notification. This can be useful if you want to reset the view after sending test transactional notifications.

Notification Details

Once you select a Notification, the Notification Details panel will show key information about it, including:

  • Title: The name of the Notification.
  • Type: The category of the Notification, such as Marketing or Transactional / API / Integration.
  • Template: The message template used for the Notification.
  • Trigger: How the Notification was triggered (for example, via an API request, WordPress plugin, etc).
  • Created: The date and time when the Notification was created.
  • Last Modified: The last time this Notification was edited or updated.

This section helps you verify which Notification you’re viewing and how it was configured.

Quick Overview

To the right of the Notification Details panel, you’ll see the Quick Overview section, which features a snapshot of your Notification’s performance:

  • Total: This is the total number of contacts to which the Notification was targeted.
  • Sent: This indicates the number of messages that were successfully sent.
  • Delivered: This is the number of messages that were successfully delivered.
  • Read: This is the number of messages that were read by recipients.
  • Failed: This indicates how many messages could not be sent.
  • Skipped: This shows the number of contacts the Notification couldn’t be sent to because they had Unsubscribed from your messages.
  • Replies: This is the number (and percentage) of recipients who replied to the Notification.
  • Time to Read: This shows the average time it took for recipients to read the message from when it was sent.
  • Approx Cost: This indicates the approximate cost incurred for sending the notification.

Kindly note that some statistics are only available on higher-tier subscription plans. Certain stats may not be visible on the Free or lower plans.

Delivery Status

Below Notification Details, you’ll find the Delivery Status chart. This shows a visual summary of your Notification’s delivery status. There are five delivery statuses represented here:

  • Sent: Messages that were successfully sent to contacts.
  • Delivered: Messages that were successfully delivered to recipients’ devices.
  • Read: Messages that were opened and read by recipients.
  • Skipped: Messages that weren’t sent because the contacts had Unsubscribed from your messages.
  • Failed: Messages that couldn’t be sent due to errors.

You can use this chart to assess how many of your messages were sent, how many actually reached the audience, and where (if any) issues may have occurred.

Read Time

Next to the Delivery Status chart, you’ll see the Read Time chart, which tells you how quickly recipients read your message after it was delivered.

The data is grouped into six time brackets:

  • Within 1 hour
  • 1 to 3 hours
  • 3 to 6 hours
  • 6 to 12 hours
  • 12 to 24 hours
  • After 24 hours

This chat will help you understand how quickly your audience is engaging with your messages.

Delivery Report and Activity Logs

At the bottom of this page, you’ll find the delivery reports and activity logs for the selected Notification. You can use them to check your campaign performance or to identify and troubleshoot issues related to the Notification.

Delivery Report

The Delivery Report tab shows the status of each message sent during the broadcast. For every contact, you’ll see four key information points:

  • Last Updated: The date and time the message status was last recorded.
  • Contact: The name and phone number of the recipient. If the contact has been deleted, it will be shown as “Contact Deleted.”
  • Status: The message status, for example, Read, Failed, etc.
  • Info: A brief message explaining the delivery status.

In cases where a notification failed to deliver, a Retry button will appear next to those contacts. You can click on it to try sending the message to that particular contact again.

You’ll also see a Fix Error button next to all failed notifications. Clicking on this will take you to a helpdesk article that explains the error and how to resolve it.

To filter delivery reports by status, you can use the Filter by status dropdown at the top-right corner of this section.

You can also export these reports using the Export button, located above the Filter by status dropdown.

Activity Logs

The Activity Logs tab provides a timestamped record of backend events for the selected Notification. This can help confirm whether a message was triggered successfully or if it failed at a specific stage.

You’ll see system-generated messages here, such as:

  • “SUCCESS: Message sending attempted successfully to [phone number]”
  • “Action denied. You've reached your plan’s limit for transactional notifications.”
  • And so on…

You can refer to these logs to identify why some messages may not have been sent.

Now that you know how to use Notification Analytics, let’s look at how to track the performance of individual message templates.
