Track Drip Sequence Sessions

The Drip Sessions page helps you track the performance of specific drip sequences. You can use it to see how many sessions were started, completed, or stopped in a sequence, and monitor the performance of individual messages.

You can also view the delivery reports and activity logs for each message in a sequence to troubleshoot issues or confirm successful delivery.

To get to this page, click on the Analytics & Reports option in the left sidebar menu, then choose Drip Sessions from the dropdown.

Here’s what you’ll see when you open the page (your view will vary based on the drip campaigns in your account):

Let's look at this page more closely:

Select Drip Sequence

At the top of the page, you’ll see the SELECT DRIP SEQUENCE dropdown (in the Drip Sequence Analytics section). You can use this to select the specific drip campaign you want to analyze.

Drip Sequence Details

Once you’ve selected a drip sequence from the dropdown above, this section will show basic information about it, like:

  • Title: The name of the drip sequence (this is a clickable link that opens the sequence in edit mode).
  • Created: The date and time the sequence was first created.
  • Last modified: The last time the sequence was edited or updated.

Drip Sequence Overall Stats

To the right of the details section, you’ll find an overview of how the sequence is performing.

Here’s what you can track:

  • Total Sessions: This is the total number of users who entered the drip.
  • On-going Sessions: This shows how many sessions of a sequence are still in progress.
  • Completed Sessions: This is the number of sessions where all scheduled messages have already been sent.
  • Stopped Sessions: This shows how many sessions in a sequence were stopped before completion.
  • Attempted Messages: This is the number of messages the system tried to send across all sessions of a sequence.
  • Sent Messages: This indicates the number of messages that were sent successfully across all sessions of a sequence.
  • Delivered Messages: This is the number of messages that reached the recipient’s device across all sessions.
  • Skipped Messages: This is the number of messages that were skipped because the user had Unsubscribed from your messages.
  • Failed Messages: This is the number of messages that couldn’t be sent due to errors across all sessions.

Drip Sequence Messages

This section lists all the messages included in the selected drip sequence. Each message is displayed in a separate card, and for every card, you can see the following details:

  • Template: The name of the Message Template used for this message. You can click on this to open the template in edit mode.
  • Total: The number of times the system attempted to send this message.
  • Sent: The number of times this message was sent.
  • Delivered: The number of times this message was successfully delivered to recipients.
  • Read: The number of times this message was opened.
  • Skipped: The number of times this message was skipped because the contact had Unsubscribed from your messages.
  • Failed: The number of times this message couldn’t be sent.

To view detailed performance metrics for an individual message, go to its card in the list and click the View Stats button located on the right.

Message Stats

When you click the View Stats button for a message, you'll see a detailed breakdown of how that message performed across all sessions.

You’ll see the same metrics as before (Total, Sent, Delivered, Read, Skipped, and Failed),  but this time only for the selected message.

Below this, you’ll find two tabs: Delivery Report and Activity Logs.

Delivery Report

The Delivery Report tab shows the delivery status of the selected message for each contact.  You can use it to see how many times the system attempted to send the message and how many times it was sent, delivered, read, skipped, or failed.

For contacts with failed messages, you’ll see two action buttons:

  • Retry: You can click on this button to attempt resending the message to that particular contact.
  • Fix Error: You can click this button to open a helpdesk article that explains the error and how to fix it.

To look up a report for a specific contact, you can use the search field at the top. If you want to filter the delivery reports by status, you can use the Filter by status dropdown in the top-right corner.

In addition to this,  you can use the Show entries dropdown to choose how many delivery reports to view at a time: 10, 25, 50, or 100.

Activity Logs

The Activity Logs tab shows a timestamped history of all actions related to this message. You can use it to:

  • See when each message was attempted.
  • Confirm if it was successfully delivered.
  • Check for specific events, like when a drip session was stopped for a contact.
