How to Verify your Meta Business Account?

Requirements

To verify your business with WhatsApp, you need the following two documents:

Business legal name document – This can be your GST certificate, EIN documentation, certificate of incorporation/formation, or business license. View the list of documents accepted by Meta.
Business address & phone number document – This can include your MSME Udyog Aadhaar, a utility bill (water, electricity, etc.), a bank statement, or your business license.

Messages Getting Failed? Read this!

If you’re not able to send messages or your messages are getting Failed, there can be multiple reasons for that. In this article, we’ll go through some of the common reasons why the messages might not be getting sent from your account.

Step 1 - Find the error

If your Notifications are getting failed, the first thing to do is check Delivery Status Report of your Notification on the Analytics page.

Visit the Analytics > Notifications page.
Select your Notification from the dropdown on top. You can also reach this page from the Notifications page by clicking on the bar graph icon in front of your Notification.
Scroll down to the Delivery Report section where you will see the messages with Failed status. You'll find the reason for the failed message under the "Info" column.

Once you've found the exact error, it's time to fix it.

Step 2 - Fix the error

Following are some of the common errors that you’ll find in the delivery report. We've provided the exact solution on how to resolve them.

Want to import 100s or even 1000s of contacts at once? You can do that using our CSV import feature. In this article we’ll see how you can do that.

Follow the simple steps given below to bulk import your contacts:

Create a CSV or XLS sheet with your contacts data including first name, last name, WhatsApp number and any additional contact attributes that you'd like to add to the contact.

IMPORTANT: WhatsApp phone numbers must be added with country codes but WITHOUT the plus + sign. E.g. if the number is +91-98765-43210, you should add 919876543210.
Make sure to format the phone number column as Text / Plain Text. See instructions on how to do that in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.

Open the Contacts > Import / Export page. You'll see the following screen:
Select Contact Lists to which you want to import these contacts.
Browse and select your CSV / Excel file.
Select the default Contact status and Contact tags that you want to set for the imported contacts.

Must-have Requirements

The following are 4 must-have requirements by WhatsApp to set up your phone number with the WhatsApp API. Please make sure you have all of the following before proceeding.

Phone Number – You must have a spare phone number to set up with the WhatsApp API.

Note that if you’re already using a phone number on the WhatsApp mobile app, you won’t be able to use that number with the API. Either you’ll have to disconnect the number from your phone app or get a new phone number to integrate it.
WhatsApp does not allow using the same phone number for both the free WhatsApp phone app and the WhatsApp API.

Registered Business – You must have a registered business and some kind of government-issued business registration proof, like an incorporation document.

How to Add Payment Method for WhatsApp API Billing?

The WhatsApp Business API is a paid service, and Meta charges a small per-message fee for the messages sent through it. To pay for API usage, you need to add your payment method in the Meta Business portal.

Follow the instructions below to add your payment method.

Open the Meta Business Settings page.
If it asks you to select your Business account, select the one that you used to set up the WhatsApp Business API.
From the left sidebar, go to Accounts > WhatsApp Accounts, and select your WhatsApp account from the list.
Click on the Settings tab, then click the Payment Settings button.
On the Payment Settings page, perform the following two actions:

In the Payment methods section, click on the Add payment method button and add your payment method.
In the Business info section, click on the Edit button and enter your legal business details.

You’ll see a screen like the one below after your payment method is added successfully:

Important Notes:

Adding details in both the Payment method and Business info is required
If you're an Indian business, it's mandatory to add your GST number in the Business info section. If you don't add it, you won't be able to use the WhatsApp API.
