How to Get Blue Tick Verification

A blue tick gives your brand special recognition on WhatsApp by showing your Display Name with a small blue tick, instead of just your phone number.


The following are the 5 must-have requirements to apply for a blue tick on WhatsApp:


  1. WhatsApp API setup completed with your own phone number.
  2. Meta business account verification.
  3. Display name approved
  4. Two-step verification enabled for your phone
  5. The business represents a notable, well-known, and frequently searched for business, brand, or entity
  6. Media presence on at least 5 pieces of organic content like PR articles, blog posts on major publications, coverage by news/media outlets, etc. Paid PR articles do not count.


IMPORTANT NOTE - Blue tick verification is only available for notable brands that have some level of popularity and media presence, like brand mentions on popular news publications and blog websites and are also frequently searched for online. In a nutshell, you can apply to get the blue tick only you a very well-known brand.


Once you have these things in place, you can apply for blue tick verification directly from your WhatsApp Manager.


How to apply for Blue Tick Verification?


  1. Go to the Phone Numbers page in your WhatsApp Business Manager (make sure you select the correct Meta Business Account associated with your WhatsApp Business Account).
  2. There you'll see a list of all your phone numbers. Click the Settings icon next to the number you want to get the blue tick for to open its Settings page.

  1. Once you are on the phone number settings page, click on the Profile tab.
  2. There you'll see a section with the title Official business account. Under that, click on the Submit Request button.

  1. In the popup that opens fill in all the required detailed. Make sure to add links to external, non-sponsored links from publications that have mentioned your brand.

  1. Add any other information requested in the form.
  2. Then click the Submit button to send the form for WhatsApp's review.


Not seeing option to submit request?


If you're not seeing the Submit request button or it's showing disabled, you are probably not eligible to apply for the blue tick verification.
