Smart Segments for Sending Targeted Broadcasts
In this article, we’ll show you how to create dynamic, smart segments using filters based on tags, lists, and attributes to send targeted broadcasts.
How to Create Smart Segments
Step 1: Open the Smart Segments Dashboard
Go to the Contacts section in the left sidebar menu and select Smart Segment from the dropdown.
Step 2: Add a Smart Segment
Once you’re on the Smart Segments dashboard, click the Add Smart Segment button in the top-right corner. This will open a pop-up window.
Step 3: Enter Segment Name
In the pop-up, enter a Segment Name. This will be used to identify your Smart Segment in the system.
Step 4: Configure Segment Filters
In the Segment Filters section, choose a Condition Type from the dropdown. You can select:
- Contact List: Filter contacts based on contact lists
- Contact Tag: Filter contacts based on tags you’ve applied
- Custom Attribute: Filter contacts using attributes such as location, source, or any other custom field
Next, choose an action for the selected condition type.
Then, from the next dropdown, select the list, tag, or attribute value to check your condition against. Example: Contact List “Is equal to” Website Leads.
Step 5: Add Additional Conditions (Optional)
Click Add ADD Condition to add another condition type. Remember, contacts would have to meet all conditions to be included in the segment. You can also click Add OR Condition to add another condition type where contacts only need to meet one of the conditions.
Once you finalize your condition types, you will see the exact number of contacts that qualify for the segment displayed above the Segment Filters section
Step 6: Save the Segment
Finally, click on the Save button to save your segment.
You will now be able to access this Smart Segment while sending a Bulk Broadcast Notification
