When sending marketing message templates, are you getting the error: In order to maintain a healthy ecosystem engagement, the message failed to be delivered?
Let's look at why this error comes and how you can resolve it.
Why do you get this error?
WhatsApp has introduced frequency capping that restricts the number of Marketing message templates a user can receive during a particular period of time. Different users have different limits set by WhatsApp depending upon how active they are on the platform.
Let's say WhatsApp sets a limit of receiving 3 marketing messages for a particular user and they've already received that 3 messages in say last 12 hours, WhatsApp will stop delivering more marketing messages to that user for a certain time period.
But after some time the system will automatically release this restriction and the user will then start delivering marketing messages to them.
Why this limitation?
This limitation was added by WhatsApp to prevent overwhelming users with too many marketing messages from different businesses and also to keep WhatsApp chats SPAM free. Imagine a user getting 10+ marketing messages daily. Soon WhatsApp will become like you email inbox, which is full of SPAM emails and users will stop using WhatsApp. So to keep quality experience for users on the platform, WhatsApp has introduced this limitation.
How to fix this error?
As this error is not related to your phone number or account and is related to the receiver's limit, a simple solution to this is to retry sending such failed messages to the contacts after some time.
We've an auto-retry feature in Advanced Settings section when you create a new Marketing Notifications. This feature let's you automatically retry sending failed messages upto 3 times. You can enable the next time you setup your Notification for much better delivery rate.
What about the Notification that you already sent? For them, you can go to it's Analytics > Notifications page, scroll down to the Delivery Reports section and manually retry sending to failed contacts by clicking on the Retry button.
