How to Onboard to Marketing Message Lite (MM Lite) API
The Marketing Message Lite (MM Lite) API is designed specifically for sending marketing messages at scale. It allows for more dynamic messaging limits that increase automatically for messages that achieve high engagement.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process to upgrade to the MM Lite API from your WANotifier account.
Before you start
Make sure you’ve set up your phone number with the WhatsApp Business API and created your WANotifier account. Without completing this step, you won’t be able to send any kind of messages on WhatsApp.
Next, check the eligibility requirements for upgrading to the MM Lite API.
Eligibility Requirements
To use the MM Lite API, your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) must meet the following conditions:
- WhatsApp Business Account, a.k.a. WABA, is active and not restricted due to policy violations
- WABA is not a WhatsApp Business App account WABA
- WABA is not an On-Behalf-Of (OBO) account managed by another business
- WABA tax country is not in a sanctioned region
- Business is not located in a sanctioned region
If your account meets these requirements, you’ll see the MM Lite API Status panel when creating a marketing notification in your WANotifier account:
Step 1: Trigger Onboarding
Click on the Get onboarded for free button in the MM Lite API Status panel. This will trigger an onboarding email to your registered email ID.
Step 2: Complete Onboarding
To complete your onboarding, click the Get started button in the email and follow the on-screen steps to complete the setup.
Did not receive the email?
Check your Meta Business Settings > Requests > Other requests page, where you can approve the request to complete the onboarding.
Step 3: Confirmation
Once onboarding is complete, you’ll see a confirmation panel when creating a marketing notification in WANotifier.
This indicates that you’ve successfully onboarded to the MM Lite API and can now send optimized marketing messages at scale.
