AI Agent Pricing and Meta Billing

Using the WhatsApp AI Agent has two costs: your WANotifier plan and Meta's usage charges.

Your WANotifier plan

The AI Agent is included in the Advanced and Premium plans, with no extra add-on fee from WANotifier.

Meta's usage charges

Meta charges for the agent based on tokens, which is the amount of text the agent reads and writes in a conversation.

  • At the time of writing, Meta's rate is $2.00 per 1 million tokens, the same in every country.
  • Meta's own examples: a simple inquiry of a few messages uses about 80,000 tokens (around $0.16 to $0.20). A longer troubleshooting chat uses about 250,000 tokens (around $0.40 to $0.50).
  • Your actual cost depends on how long your conversations are and how much information the agent works with.

These charges are separate from your regular WhatsApp messaging charges.

How Meta bills you

Meta bills the AI Agent directly, not through WANotifier. Charges go to the Meta Business Agent Billable Account in Meta's Billing Hub.

To add a payment method:

  • Open the AI Agent page and click the Billing Hub link.
  • Open the Meta Business Agent Billable Account and click Add payment method.

What happens without a payment method?

The agent only replies to numbers on your Agent Allowlist. This is useful for testing. Your customers won't get replies from the agent until you add a payment method.

How to keep costs under control

  • Keep your Business Info, FAQs and files focused and up to date, so the agent finds answers quickly.
  • Use chatbots for structured journeys, like lead qualification or bookings, and the agent for open-ended questions.
  • Pause the agent from Setup → AI Agent whenever you don't need it.

You can see current rates and your charges in Meta's Billing Hub.
